What is a ‘casual’ archer?

A casual archer is an archer who has completed one of our Come’N’Try and Beginner’s Courses and has satisfied our staff that they can shoot unsupervised. Other archers with proven bone fide experience elsewhere may also be accepted as ‘casual’ archers.

All casual archers must complete a Safety Induction prior to being allowed to shoot at the Sydney Olympic Park Archery Centre and will be issued with a Safety Induction card that must be produced on request on subsequent visits.

Can I do a mid-week Come’N’Try or Beginner’s Course lesson?

Minimum class sizes apply to all mid-week lessons and we will only conduct the mid-week Come’N’Try and Beginner’s Course lessons if there is a group of 8 or more people.

Do I have to do the three Beginner’s Course lessons on consecutive weeks?

The choice is up to you. You can do the three lessons at a time to suit you either in three consecutive weeks or to suit your own calendar. We cover the main 10 points of archery during the three lessons and issue you with a personal checklist to keep tabs on your progress.

What does Safety Induction involve?

At the commencement of each program, all archers will be instructed in the safety rules and operational guidelines for the Archery Centre to ensure that everyone is in a safe environment. This induction is carried out as part of the program session.

Is parking available at the Archery Centre?

Free parking is available adjacent to the venue.

What’s the minimum age for archery at the Sydney Olympic Park Archery Centre?

10 years of age.

For young person’s Archery Parties it is important to ensure that all participants are 10 years of age or over.

What archery programs can I do after I complete the introductory Come’N’Try program?

You can repeat the Come’N’Try program or, if you feel confident enough, you can enrol in the 3 lesson Beginner’s Course.  There is then the Higher Performance Advanced Coaching lesson for archers who want to take their sport one step further and there are always one-on-one or one-on-two Private Coaching lessons that can be taken at any stage of your progress through archery lessons.

Please refer to the Archery Program Progression chart for further information.

What hours are you open?

Our current general opening hours during the autumn and winter months are Tuesday to Sunday (closed Mondays) from 10.00am to 4.00pm. We accept the last booking of the day for casual archers at 3.00pm.
